The new Toyota Auris Hybrid combines all the practicality, comfort and driving enjoyment of the Auris, with the added benefit of a hybrid powertrain. The Auris’ innovative Hybrid Synergy Drive is the most environmentally friendly ever and promises class-leading fuel economy. The most efficient model – the T₄ – is capable of 74.3mpg and emits just 89g/km of CO₂.

The 136bhp petrol engine works in harmony with the electric engine to provide 736 miles on a single tank. Energy is recycled when slowing down or braking, and used to power the electric motor. When more power is needed, both engines kick in. If driving in the city, the all-electric mode can be used up to 31mph to save on petrol.

Whether powered by the petrol engine or electric motor – or even both – the Auris Hybrid offers a smooth, quiet ride, thanks to the variable automatic transmission and silent electric motor.
